H\u00e4lfte der Region Abruzzen ist landschaftlich betrachtet gr\u00fcn. Denn ein Nationalpark und das Naturschutzgebiet nehmen unglaublich viel Fl\u00e4che ein. Das macht schnell erkennbar, wie unber\u00fchrt dieser Teil von Italien noch ist. Die Landschaft ist atemberaubend sch\u00f6n. Die Region erstreckt sich vom Apennin bis hin zur Adria, liegt am Meer und ist zudem sehr h\u00fcgelig. Man durchquert Gebiete, die reich an Geschichte, Traditionen und Kunst sind und die somit nie aufh\u00f6ren zu \u00fcberraschen. Selbst der l\u00e4ndliche Lebensstil der kleinen D\u00f6rfer ist heute noch sp\u00fcrbar und das lokale Handwerk sichtbar.<br \/>Ein ganz besonderes Highlight der Region ist der sogenannte \u201eTrabocco\u201c, der entlang der K\u00fcste zu finden ist. Es handelt sich dabei um eine Art Holzh\u00fctte \u00fcber dem Meer, die als Fischerhochstand fungiert. So alt die Stadt auch ist, so sehr kann man Spuren aus verschiedenen Epochen erkenne: Antike, Mittelalter, Barock und Moderne spiegeln sich an den verschiedenen Geb\u00e4uden und Monumenten wider. Die Fassade der Kathedrale ist ein sehr gutes Beispiel f\u00fcr den Epochen-Mix.
